  Council okays Annan's Iraq accord
The United Nations Security Council on Monday unanimously approved the accord Secretary General Kofi Annan had entered into with Iraq for inspection of Presidential sites in Iraq. The UN Security Council also warned Iraq of "severest consequences" if it reneges on the agreement.
  BNP signs accord to end political stand-off
The opposition Bangladesh National Party (BNP) will return to Parliament within March 8 under a new agreement that it signed yesterday with the ruling Awami League. After a marathon 12-hour bargaining session spread over the last four days, the negotiators of the Awami League of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the BNP signed an agreement resolving the stand-off.

Clinton's friend to testify in Monicagate
A close friend and political ally of US President Bill Clinton is set to make a long-awaited appearance before a grand jury today to discuss the sex-and-perjury matter rocking the White House. The testimony of Vernon Jordan comes as the Clinton strategy of painting special prosecutor Kenneth Starr as an out-of-control inquisitor appears to be paying off.

Security conscious scientists are surprised over the presence of eight Americans and a German aboard an Indian research ship that left Goa on February 17 on a 45-day cruise to Port Louis in Mauritius via Male. The ship is collecting vital oceanic and atmospheric data, some of which is also militarily sensitive.

Operation Hangul "cover-up" in the Valley
Kashmir's majestic deer -- hangul -- is fast vanishing but on paper strenuous efforts are on to stretch the figures arrived at in the recent census to portray that all is well in its last bastion, the Dachigam National Park. While private researchers and wildlife guards vouch that the population of the hangul is anywhere between 100-170, the official census has put the numbers at an exaggerated 210 to 260.
Cops suspect plastic surgery by blasts "mastermind"
Even as the police arrested another accused in the pre-poll serial blasts on February 27 in Mumbai, officials believe that the suspected ISI agent who masterminded the blasts has undergone plastic surgery to conceal his identity.
