Mongia pulled up for disent, fined
Indian opening batsman Nayan Mongia was pulled up for ``dissent'' and fined 50 percent of his match fee by ICC match observer Peter Van Der Merve.The former South African captain told reporters at the end of the fourth day's play in the first Test between India and Australia here today that Mongia, who had shown his displeasure at being adjudged leg before to Greg Blewett by umpire George Sharp of England in the Indian second innings on Sunday was punished according to code three of the International Cricket Council code.Van Der Merve said if Mongia displayed an act of dissent again during the current series, he would be suspended for one Test match. On the reaction of Greg Blewett after his dismissal in the Australian first innings, he said it was considered as an act of disappointment and not dissent. ``There's lot of difference between dissent and disappointment'', he said.
