"I want DD to become a money-making machine"
If Surindar Singh Gill is affected by the prospect of a BJP Government engineering his removal as Prasar Bharati CEO, he's not letting on. The 70-year-old appears to have decided fairly early on that it is impossible to please all political parties all the time.
Kesri's karma
This old man was always in a hurry. Defying the limits of biology as well as the gravity of politics, he aspired to reclaim the natural right of his party. But as he leapt forward, the party marched backward. Now, at last, Sitaram Kesri has come to a halt and left the wreckage of the Congress to the redeemers-in-waiting.
Now for real representation
The electoral verdict has come. As expected, there is a hung Parliament again and a period of instability. Issues based on constitutional values are unlikely to influence the final arrangement for governance. The people will be seen once again as the losers.

The man is the message
In economics as in its politics, the likely BJP government at the Centre will be required to juggle with a wide range of contradictory ideas from the Sangh Parivar as well as its diverse allies and associates. The Parivar can be expected to make strenuous efforts to leave its mark in the shortest possible time given the uncertainty about how long a term the BJP will enjoy if it comes to power at the Centre.
