SHAHID AHMED KHAN
LAHORE, MARCH 15: India A batsmen faltered again as Pakistan rode on an unbeaten 89 by opener Salim Elahi to score a six-wicket victory in the second one-dayer here today. Pakistan A thus clinched the three-match series 2-0.

Put in to bat by Pakistan skipper Aaqib Javed, India could muster 195 before being all out in 46.4 overs and Pakistan reached 197 for four in 38.5 overs.

The third and final tie is at Karachi on March 17.

Left-hander Rohan Gavaskar top-scored with 39 and Sanjay Raul made 31 in the best two efforts in the middle-order but the Indian batsmen, who had done so well in the Test series, failed to get going and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Javed went wicketless after a tidy eight over spell, but Abdul Razzaq (2-43), Naeem Ashraf (2-22) and Shahid Afridi (2-28) took two wickets apiece to peg back the Indians.

Brief scores: India A 195 in 46.4 overs (MSK Prasad 26, J Paranjpe 23, S Raul 31, R Gavaskar 39; Abdul Razzak 2-43, Naeem Asraf 2-22, Arshad Khan 1-25, S Afridi 2-28)lost to Pakistan A 197-4 in 38.5 overs (S Elahi 89 n.o, Mohammed Hussain 54 n.o; A Agarkar 2-27, R Sodhi 1-30).
