Cong threat to boycott Assam budget session

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
GUWAHATI, March 20: The Congress today boycotted the proceedings in the Assam Assembly in protest against expulsion of its Deputy leader Ardhendu Dey from the House for the entire Budget session by Speaker Ganesh Kutum yesterday and decided to boycott the entire session if the Speaker did not not revoke his ruling.

Dey was expelled from the House for not apologising to the House for levelling false charges against the health department. Dey had charged that a scandal worth Rs 2,000 crore was taking place in the health department for purchase of medicines. He also submitted some documents to the Speaker, but the Speaker had said that Ardhendu Dey had failed to substantiate his charge against the health department.
