The Empire loses its legendary car
Imagine Big Mac as anything but American. It's tough. Or Rolls Royce as anything but British. It's tougher. But these are the toughest days -- so Rolls Royce is not British any longer. It's been sold to the Germans. Germany's BMW confirmed today that it would pay 340 million pounds ($ 572 million) to take over Rolls Royce Motor Cars from Vickers Plc.
Pentagon developing new devices for battlefield
American defence will soon be equipped with advanced devices to perform dangerous tasks on the battlefront so as to minimise casualties to its military force, according to a top government official. For this, it will ask the Kalyan Singh Government to promulgate an ordinance. A resolution to this effect will be adopted by the VHP's governing council at its next meeting on April 1 and 2 in Faridabad.
BJP, Samata units in Bihar gang up to pull down Rabri Government
Having won the vote of confidence in Delhi, the BJP and its ally Samata Party are getting ready to pull down the Rabri Devi Government, and they are not averse to mounting pressure on Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee for the purpose. Though conscious of the fact that the dismissal may cause a public outcry and perhaps even make a martyr of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad Yadav, the BJP-Samata feels this can be avoided.
