RSS drive for Vanavasi Kalyan fund from today

SANTANU BANERJEE
CALCUTTA, APRIL 4: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) is launching a fund-collection campaign in the West Bengal villages and towns from tomorrow. The campaign, which will last till 15th of this month, is expected to generate finance for over 15,000 welfare projects under the Akhil Bharatiya Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA).

During the campaign, four members each from all 12 shakhas in West Bengal will visit villages and towns.

The institution has embarked on the fund-rising campaign to strengthen and reinforce the ABVKA activities among the tribal villages in India and hope to reach out to all 450 tribals in the country in next two years. The ABVKA, according to RSS sources here, is fighting to bring back the Indian tribals in the mainstream society.

The campaign is a part of ABVKA's plan to raise Rs 15 crore for various tribal development projects. In all, about 4,800 RSS workers will visit the villages.
