No rift with Mamata over Front: BJP

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CALCUTTA, APRIL 4: The State BJP has denied any misunderstanding with the Trinamool Congress on the issue of Bangal Bachao Front. The West Bengal BJP chief and party's lone MP from the State, Tapan Sikdar told a press conference here today ``he has been misquoted by a section of press'' to give an impression that ``he is against the Front.''

``While I actually asked for working out a common agenda for the Front,'' Sikdar told the Press. Incidentally, for the last few days there was a controversy over `the statements of Sikdar and other leaders' who, according to reports, told press that ``they will not be a constituent of the Front,'' which Mamata Banerjee conceptualised last parties in West Bengal.

``We have welcomed the idea even during the Lok Sabha election,'' he said. ``But we want a final decision is taken before on its constitution, the political parties willing to enter it should be listened to,'' Sikdar said. Elaborating his point, he said ``we should sit together to discuss and finally evolve acommon programme which will be our agenda.''

``We will not accept any unilateral decision by any single party and abide by it,'' he hastened to add.
