Job racket busted in Delhi, 2 agents held for deceiving youth

NEW DELHI, APRIL 4: The Crime Branch of the Delhi police has unearthed a fake placement agency and arrested two persons who were running it.

According to the police, the Crime Branch had received complaints that some fake agencies, using the name of renowned companies, were functioning in the Capital. They induced job aspirants to deposit money and promised to get them jobs. A special team headed by SI Ram Lal and supervised by ACP Shyam Singh was set-up to look into the matter after they received information.

During the enquiry, it was noticed that advertisements were being published in Rajasthan Patrika offering jobs in several cities of Rajasthan by a company called Usha industrial Company. The applicants, mistaking it to be a part of the famous Usha India Ltd, sent applications along with money to their office at Jamia Nagar in Okhla.

A raid was conducted at the building on Friday which houses the office in Jamia Nagar. Sixtyfive blank and 36 filled out application forms were recovered. Theproprietor, Narayan Singh (28), a resident of Gurgaon and the manager, Jitender Pandey, a resident of Bihar were apprehended.

During interrogation, Narayan Singh disclosed that he was a graduate and he had been running this fake placement agency for the last three months. He said he used to give advertisements in the local Hindi dailies targeting job seekers from rural areas. Earler, too the same youth had resorted to cheating yThe police has registered a case of cheating at police station Srinivas Puri and further investigation is on.
