Woman ends life after tiff over son's studies

THANE, APRIL 4: Over an argument of who will take up the child's studies, a wife ended her life by consuming pesticide here yesterday, the police informed today.

According to preliminary reports, Sahilaja Sunil Vishpute, 39, serving as a clerk in the Thane court had a quarrel with her husband, Sunil. They argued about who will teach their child as school exams were nearing.

The quarrel went on to such an extent that the wife depressed as she was over the quarrel, ended her life at about 2.00 am by consuming pesticide. When Sunil detected that his wife had consumed pesticide, he rushed her to the ESIC Hospital at Mulund. But, Sahilaja was declared dead even before she could be admitted to the hospital, the police said.
