Chetna emerge Samba champs

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, April 7: Chetna defeated MET 4-1 in the final of the Samba '98 Inter-Management football tournament, organised by NMIMS, at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, today.

MET forwards Savio Fernandes, Wilbur D'Costa, Mayur and Rajendra Belekar played well but were woefully off target.

The Chetna forwards combined well and scored when a Kshitij Desai pass saw Manuel Fernandes beat MET goalkeeper Pramod Parmeshwar with a neat placement.

In the second-half, another Kshitij Desai pass from the left was neatly converted by Manuel Fernandes for 2-0 lead. It was Kshitij Desai who then scored when he received a pass by Sunil Lobo.

A good combination by MET forwards Wilbur D'Costa and Savio Fernandes saw Dattaram make it 1-3.

But in the 48th minute, Sunil Lobo and Manuel Fernandes struck a good combination which saw Kshitij Desai round-off the Chetna tally (4-1).
