Kerala rout Rajasthan

GUWAHATI, April 7: Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh registered wins in their respective encounters in the second day of the 54th Santosh Trophy Football Championship in Assam today.

In a Cluster-B match at Silchar, Madhya Pradesh got past Mizoram 3-2 while in a cluster-F encounter, Kerala trounced Rajashthan 4-0 in Nagaon and in a cluster-A match at Duliajan, Chandigarh beat Nagaland 2-1.

In the Silchar match, Mizoram's Pianglawma scored the first goal in the 26th minute while Madhya Pradesh Bablu restored parity in the 37th minute.

In the 51st minute David for Mizoram took the tally to 2-1 while Verghese of the M P team scored two consecutive goals in the 53rd and 78th minute to put the team at 3-2. In the Nagoan match, Rajesh scored two goals while K Prasanthan and V Suresh Babu scored a goal each for Kerala.
