Deepak Bajpai
GAUTAM BUDHHA NAGAR, April 7: Almost a year after the infamous incident in Connaught place, in which two innocent men were shot by the Delhi police, the Gautam Budhha Nagar police shot a truck driver ``by mistake'' early this morning. The police constable Sanjay Singh, who shot the 35-year-old truck driver Yameen, has been suspended and a case of murder has been registered against him.The incident occurred at a police picket set up after the Dankaur police had received information that a gang in the area was smuggling cows and calves for slaughter.

The police set up a picket at village Latifpur. At 3.30 a.m. the policemen on duty saw a mini-truck approaching. Constable Sanjay Singh stopped the truck and while getting into the truck with his rifle, the trigger accidently got pressed and the bullet went through Yameen's head.
