CR's pension scheme

  • The Central Railway will implement the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission for railway or family pensioners who retired prior to January 1, 1986.

    These pensioners should have been receiving retiring pension, superannuation pension, compensation pension and invalid pension under railway pension rules. Pensioners of CR are requested to apply to their respective personnel offices on or before August 9 this year.

    April 11 working day for customs

  • The Customs have declared Saturday, April 11, as a working day for the purposes of both imports and exports.

    Indu Sharma award conferred

  • The Indu Sharma Katha Samman for 1998 will be conferred on writer Devendra for his short story collection Shehar Kotwal ki Kavita. The award, instituted in the memory of writer Indu Sharma, will be presented at a function at the Air-India Auditorium, Nariman Point, on April 11 at 6.15 pm by Manohar Shyam Joshi.

    Ayurveda faculty dean felicitated

  • Professor Vaidya Dinanath Upadhyay, the newly appointed dean of the Ayurveda faculty of the Mumbai University was felicitated by Vice-Chancellor Dr Snehalata Deshmukh on Monday. The function was organised by the Smt Kamaladevi G Mittal Punarvasu Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya.

    Khar school gets civic award

  • The GA Kulkarni Primary School at Khar has been judged the second-best English school in the H-east and H-west wards for 1997-98 by the Education Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The school is run by the Bombay Suburban Education Society.

    Airlanka orders new aircraft

  • AirLanka, the flag carrier for Sri Lanka, has ordered six A300-200s from Airbus Industrie for deliveries beginning October, 1999. The new aircraft will replace Airlanka's aging fleet on routes to Europe and within Asia.

    Matrimonial assistance prog

  • The Maharashtra Deaf Pride has organised a `Matrimonial Asssitance Get-together' programme to be held on April 26 between 10 am and 6 pmat Mumbadevi municipal school, Chaunck Ground hall, Kausar Hall, Kalbadevi. Biodatas can be registered at the organisation's office at Mumbadevi municipal school before April 19 between 5 and 7.30 pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
