Gold rises further on thin supply

MUMBAI: Gold rose further on the bullion market here today in line with firm overseas advices amidst thin supply. There was also good seasonal demand for the yellow metal, dealers said. On the other hand, silver reacted on increased arrivals and weak overseas advices. Standard gold rose further by Rs 15 to end at Rs 4,250 as against Thursday's level of Rs 4,235. 22-carat gold was nominally quoted better at Rs 3,930 from Rs 3,920.

Ten-tola gold bar of .999 fineness firmed up by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 49,800. Ready silver of .999 fineness and tenderable silver fell by Rs 30 each to end at Rs 8850 and Rs 8855.
