BJP resolves to see the back of Rabri regime

PATNA, April 11: Bharatiya Janata Party's Bihar unit has formally asked the Centre to immediately dismiss Rabri Devi's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) government and impose President's Rule in the state, party sources said.The political resolution at BJP's state executive meeting said Bihar is ``not being run in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and thus, it is a fit case for invoking Article 356'', party spokesman Kiran Ghai said.

BJP charged the state government with failing to protect the citizens and holding elections to Panchayati Raj institution, which it claimed is ``in gross violation of the Constitution'' and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Rabri Devi, he said quoting the resolution. ``Rabri Devi should resign following her alleged involvement in various financial irregularities, including disproportionate assets case,' the resolution said.

The resolution was unanimously adopted at the two-day meeting, which concluded here yesterday. Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, BJPsenior leaders Kailash Pati Mishra and Shatrughan Sinha (MP), Opposition leader in state Assembly Sushil Kumar Modi.
