  BJP takes a bold step, sheds Hindutva burden
Power changes many. And, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is no exception. Party president LK Advani's speech yesterday marked a radical shift in his party's policies, with a call for shelving of its core Hindutva issues in the interests of a stable coalition Government at the Centre.
  Sangma to head AICC task force
Congress president Sonia Gandhi took the first step towards revamping the party by constituting a six-member task force headed by former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma. Besides Sangma, the other task force members are Sharad Pawar, Manmohan Singh, A K Antony, Ahmed Patel and Arjun Singh. The panel has been asked to study the suggestions for revitalising the party.

Temple plan not shelved: Uma
Union Minister of State for Culture Uma Bharati said on Friday that "systematic" efforts were on to remove "all hurdles in the way of the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya." She, however, added that the construction of the temple would be the "first thing we will do when the BJP comes to power on its own."
BJP resolves to see the back of Rabri regime
The Bharatiya Janata Party's Bihar unit has formally asked the Centre to immediately dismiss Rabri Devi's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) government and impose President's Rule in the state. The political resolution at BJP's state executive meeting said Bihar is "not being run in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and thus, it is a fit case for invoking Article 356".

No rift in party, claims Samata
The Samata Party has termed as "baseless" reports of dissension within the party over its MPs not being included in the Vajpayee Government. The Samata Party, however, added that the party's supporters expected more MPs to be made ministers.
Blame it on anti-saffron trio: BJP on Maharashtra washout
The Congress entering into a strategic alliance with Samajwadi Party and the Republican Party of India (RPI) in Maharashtra was one of the causes for the setback suffered by BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the state in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections. In its report to the two-day national executive of the BJP, the Maharashtra unit also pointed the anti-incumbency factor and lack of implementation of election promises as other reasons for the alliance suffering the setback in the polls.
