Project Affected Families must be given more relief, says SPB

SATARA, April 13: The State Planning Board (SPB) has recommended that the scope of the definition of Project Affected Families (PAFs) be broadened to cover any acquisition of land by the state government for any of its projects, Board working chairman Prakash Jawadekar said here on Saturday.Dealing with the saffron alliance government's new rehabilitation policy, Jawadekar stated that the Board has proposed an equal quantum of land for PAFs in the command area besides guaranteeing irrigation facilities for a hectare.

The government would accept the Board recommendations in toto, he hoped.
