Lala turns down fresh passes

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, April 13: Former India cricket captain Lala Amarnath, who was denied proper passes for tomorrow's Tri-series cup final between India and Australia here, today turned down attempts by the Delhi Cricket Authorities to mollify him.

The octogenarian first captain of independent India, who was given the two passes due to him but only for outer stands turned away a DDCA messenger who brought him fresh passes following press report of the insult to him.

``I asked him to get lost,'' Amarnath said and maintained that he would not be present in the Ferozeshah Kotla as a protest to the treatment meted out to him.
