More than 50 killed in Bogota plane crash

AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE
BOGOTA, April 21: A Boeing 727 leased by Air France crashed near Bogota shortly after take-off on Monday, killing all of the more than 50 people on board, officials said.

There were conflicting reports on the exact number of people on the jetliner, with the Ecuadoran airline Tame, which owns the plane, saying 61 died. Air France put the toll at 53. Television pictures showed a scene of devastation, with mutilated bodies scattered on a mountainside.
