AHMEDABAD, April 21: International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Ahmedabad, will be taking out a rath yatra on April 22 as part of the week-long Brahmotsava festival to commemorate the opening of Shri Radha Govinda Dham last year.Talking to reporters here on Monday, ISKCON president Jashomatinandana Das said the yatra will start at 4 p.m. from Town Hall and pass through Income-tax Circle, Sardar Patel Stadium, C G Road, Ambavadi and Nehrunagar Circle.
He said deities of Lord Jagannath, Radha and Krishna and Ram and Sita will be taken out on a beautifully-decorated ratha. The procession will be inaugurated by State Home Minister Haren Pandya, local MLAs Vijay Patel and Amit Shah and Police commissioner Hiralal by cleaning the path in front of the Lord's cart, as is the practice in Puri where Jagannath rath is taken out, he said.
He informed that Bhagwad Gita's discourses will be delivered at ISKCON Temple from 7 to 10 p.m. by senior ISKCON and local learned saints on that day. Apart from him, other saints will deliver the discourses. He said the ceremony will be graced by several State ministers and senior bureaucrats and government officials.
