Sotta's release sought by former Cong MP

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, April 21: Former Congress member of Parliament Sanat Mehta has called on Chief minster Keshubhai Patel to release Sailesh Mehta, alias Sotta, who has been detained under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activites Act.

In a letter to the chief minister, the former MP alleged that the police had wrongfully framed charges against the municipal councillor and condemned the action, saying it would tarnish the party's image.

While admitting there were many cases pending in various courts against Sotta, Mehta said quite a few of them would be difficult to prove in the courts of law.

Several city Congress party workers have also pleaded revocation of the order.
