AHMEDABAD, April 21: Not satisfied with the functioning of the Estate and Town Planning department, municipal commissioner B K Sinha on Monday transferred some 163 officers of the department.Talking to reporters on Monday, Sinha said that there were general complaints about these employees. He said one estate officer, five deputy estate officer and deputy town planning officers, 20 assistant estate town planning officers, 52 inspectors and 85 sub-inspectors were transferred.Almost the entire staff of both these departments were transferred.
Meanwhile, estate officer Pradip Ruhwala has been appointed as the Town Development Officer (TDO). He will also hold the additional charge as estate officer. N B Parikh, deputy estate office North Zone has been appointed the deputy TDO project and planning central office replacing Naveet R Baleva who has been transferred as deputy TDO East Zone. Mahendra Shah deputy estate officer West Zone has been transferred as the deputy estate officer Central Zone replacing P S Patel who has been transferred as the deputy estate officer North Zone. Ashwin B Shah, deputy estate officer Central Zone takes over as the deputy estate officer West Zone.
Meanwhile, Sinha said that he will also fix time-limit for various permissions given by the town planning department and the estate departments. He said a seminar of all the officers of estate and town planning department would be organised to make them aware about their duties.
Meanwhile, the corporation has also lifted securities from illegal construction sites. Sinha said that securities would now be placed only at serious violation sites, like those on lands reserved under town planning scheme.
