Court asks VMC to pay relief to accident victim

VADODARA, April 21: Fifteen years after his death in a road accident, the courts have asked the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) to pay Rs 14.25 lakh as compensation to Bharat Dhruna's widow Nirmala. Dhruna had been killed in April 1983 after crashing into a speedbreaker constructed by the VMC near Deluxe Society on the Nizampura Road.The compensation is expected to be formally sanctioned at the Standing Committee meeting of the VMC on Thursday.
