MUMBAI, April 22: With just three minutes remaining, Anita Krishnan the main player of Savios, went out with five fouls. That turned the game in favour of their opponents, Agnels Gymkhana who went on to win the cliff-hanger of a match by one point (27-26) in the opening round league match of the Colgate Palmolive DB Prabhu Memorial Basketball at the Indian Gymkhana court here today.The tall Anita made the difference between the two sides, but with her exit Agnels Gymkhana combined well, dominated the boards and snuffed out their rivals.
In another girls match, Agradneya Vyayamshala, who won the mini title yesterday, defeated Indian Gymkhana 31-24. The hosts were playing well to keep in touch with their rivals' score at 17-17. But Agradneya just increased the pace of the game and scored some easy baskets through fast breaks even as the Indian Gymkhana girls were starting to get tired.
