"Churchill not closing down"

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
GUWAHATI, April 22: Churchill Brothers football club may not be disbanded after all. Even though the rumours speak to the contrary, Churchill coach Armando Colaco is quite emphatic: ``No we are not disbanding now,'' he told The Indian Express here.

Colaco, currently coaching the Goan team in the Santosh Trophy, said: ``Maybe, in the heat of things, some people are saying that we are closing down. But, as far as I know, that is not happening now.''

Churchill have already recruited many players for the next season. Among them are seven footballers from the recently-disbanded Sesa Goa.

Sesa, who were pipped at the post for a National Football League (NFL) first division spot by Tollygunge Agragami, announced their decision to close down soon after and even informed about it to the Goa Football Association (GFA).

Churchill, however, have not informed about their intentions of closing shop to the GFA. At least, GFA chief Alberto Calaco is not aware of it.
