Deewar serial pulled off air

MUMBAI, April 22: In an unprecendented move, Mukesh Khanna, producer of the serial Deewar has decided to pull it off DD-1 channel. Deewar was slotted as a daily soap on DD-1 and had completed only 60 episodes on 22nd April, 1998, of the allotted 260 episodes. The serial has been taken off as it was delinked from the national network and put up for regional transmission, and the advertisers backed out. Said Khanna, ``Our set is standing, and unit hands, who have been contracted for 260 episodes, are sitting idle.''
