Nabard proposes agri-credit cards

New Delhi, April 24: The Union agriculture ministry has asked the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) to formulate a model `agri-credit card scheme' on the lines of consumer credit card in an attempt to simplify procedures for small and medium horticulturists in availing credit from commercial banks.The ministry has also requested to the Reserve Bank of India for issuing necessary instructions to commercial banks for taking up the proposed scheme in all states and Union territories after its formulation.
