ISI pushed in over 100 mercenaries, says IGP

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
SRINAGAR, April 24: Over 100 foreign mercenaries were pushed into Jammu and Kashmir during March and April this year by Pakistan's Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) in its desperate bid to sustain militancy in the State, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, P S Gill said here today.

``ISI is desperately trying to push in as many men and as much material possible this year to somehow revive the dying violence,'' Gill told mediapersons. ``Indigenous militancy having lost its ideological mooring and all the remaining activists having opted now for return to the mainstream, the command (of militancy in Kashmir) had been handed over to trusted mercenaries,'' he said.
