`Shun materialism'

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, April 24: People were increasingly indulging in luxuries and were getting away from moral values. This was stated by Digamber Jain Sadhu Gupti Sagar while addressing mediapersons at Digamber Jain Mandir in Sector 27. He is the first Digamber Sadhu to have visited the city.

Guptisagar, who is known to be strongly opposed to social evils, said that man is undermining himself by being materialistic. He's busy fighting for his rights completely oblivious of his duties. In the country of great men like Mahavir, it's always been hard work and responsibilities which have been admired, he said. He said that discipline and restraint were the only ways of attaining mental peace and strength. He asked the people to restrict their ambitions and do introspection.
