  Cricket satta racket busted in Delhi
A cricket satta racket involving more than Rs 10 lakh was busted by the Social Defence Wing in the Karol Bagh area on Friday. Gamblers from all parts of New Delhi had reportedly put their stakes in "operation centre" run by a three-member gang of satta operators for the prestigious India-Australia final match at Sharjah on Friday.

Indians beware, water shortage ahead: UNICEF report
India is headed inexorably towards a water crisis, a new United Nations report warns. According to the report brought out by the UN Childrens' Fund (UNICEF), by the year 2017 there would not only be acute shortage of ground water but also drinking water, particularly in the summer months.
Student held for killing teacher
A 14-year-old student has been arraigned on murder charges after being accused of opening fire on a school dance in rural Pennsylvania, killing a teacher and wounding two other teens. Andrew Jerome Wurst was charged with several counts stemming from the shooting late Friday, including murder, reckless endangerment, weapons and drug possession.

Robbers make off with gold from temple
Unidentified persons broke into the Sri Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on Sunday and decamped with gold ornaments weighing about a kilogram. This is the second incident of theft in a temple in Andhra Pradesh in the last 10 days. Earlier, some robbers stole ornaments from the 500-year-old Sun Temple at Arasavilli in Srikakulam district.
