NEW DELHI, April 27: Himachal Pradesh Power Minister Sukh Ram today met BJP president-elect Kushabhau Thakre in an apparent bid to clear ``misgivings'' arising out of the BJP leader's remarks about him. During his 45-minute meeting with Thakre at the BJP office here, he explained that no ``prima facie'' case has so far been established against him by any court. He told Thakre that allegations have been levelled against many senior leaders but it is not proper to form an opinion till a person is convicted.Later, he told reporters that there was some ``misunderstanding'' due to communication gap, which had been removed.
Sukh Ram said, the BJP leader appreciated his point of view as also the standing of his Himachal Vikas Congress among the people of the state. He said his party's alliance with BJP would continue and they would together contest the elections to Mandi Lok Sabha seat and four assembly constituencies.
Asked whether he will resign if charges were framed against him by the court, he said, ``thisis a hypothetical question. The court can acquit me also.''He alleged that the media had been used by his adversaries to malign him though he had not been convicted by any court.Thakre is reported to have said that BJP had taken support of Sukh Ram under political compulsion.
