BANGALORE, April 28: With all parties aiming at the seventh seat of the biennial elections to the council from the Legislative Assembly on May 8, there is little scope for the so called alliance between parties in Karnataka.The ruling Janata Dal has filed papers for all the seats. The Congress has put in three papers on Monday, the last day for filing nominations.
A lone Lok Shakti candidate is in the fray. With 109 seats of its own, the JD can win the first four seats comfortably as whip will be issued to vote for them. Among the Congress, the sitting member Kempamma got the nod from the High Command. Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Rani Satish too filed papers. The Congress has 44 votes.
The BJP has made Mukhya Mantri Chandru its candidate.
