Top seed Swapnil advances

MUMBAI, April 28: The top five seeds, Swapnil Shah, Sanjay Karandikar, Madan Bagaitkar, Vilesh Bhat and Charudatta Jadhav, all of Maharashtra, sailed through the first round with easy victory in the opening round of the All-India Open Chess Tournament for the blind at the Andheri Sports Complex here today. Swapnil Shah defeated Laxmi Mathur of West Bengal while Sanjay Karandikar, with black pieces scored over Shefali Mahato .
