Shiv Jayanti celebrated

  • Governor Dr P C Alexander today called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj a beacon of moral values and ethics with a tolerance for all faiths. He was speaking at a function held to mark Shiv Jayanti at the Mayor's bungalow today. Other speakers included Chief Minister Manohar Joshi and Mayor Nandu Satam. Earlier, the Governor and the CM garlanded Shivaji's statue at Shivaji Park.

    Vice-president of MPYC appointed

  • The former chairman of the Mumbai University Students Council Dharmesh Vyas, has recently been appointed as the vice-president of Mumbai Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC).

    Awareness drive on free education

  • Azad Bharat Rail Yatris, a group of youth, will stage a unique awareness drive on Child Labour Day on April 30. They will provide commuters at Churchgate station with post cards to be signed and sent to the Prime Minister urging him to bring about the 83rd amendment making education free and compulsory for children below 14.
