"Nothing abnormal about tree hacking"

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, April 29: More branches than necessary of the 15 trees in and around the Mumbai University campus were hacked because the trees had not been trimmed since the last eight months, say officials. After Express Newsline had reported the hacking of the trees for a Light and Sound show to be held in the university's Fort campus on May 1, former chief secretary of Maharashtra Dinesh Afzalpurkar, who prepared the design for the show, today said the show organisers had done nothing `abnormal', and that most of the foilage was retained in the trimming, carried out under the supervision of the city's Municipal Commissioner.
