Painting exhibition
A four-day paintings exhibition, featuring the works of three artists Ajitsinh Kher of Kosamba, Chandrakant Printwala and Jignesh Jariwala of the city, will be on display at the Rotary Art Gallery in Timaliavad from Thursday. The works on display include water colour paintings, oil paintings and sketches. While the gallery will be open from 4 to 9 pm during the first three days, it will remain open from 9 am to 9 pm on Sunday, the last day of the exhibition, a release said.

Shooting camp
A fortnight-long air rifle shooting camp, organised by the Sarita Sagar Sankool Trust of the city, will be held from May 1 to 15. The camp -- to be conducted by Umesh Chevli, renowned air rifle shooter -- will train participants to use the air rifle. Those interested should contact the Sankool office at Sardar Bridge, Adajan Road.

Meat seized
Surat Municipal Corporation health authorities, in raids conducted at various illegal slaughter houses in Phulpada, Golkiwad, Salabatpura, Bapunagar, Ved Road, D K M Nagar areas of the city, seized more than 1600 kilogrammes of meat and initiated legal proceedings against 21 people in the connection, according to a release.

Blood camp
The Lokdrishti Charitable Trust, an eye bank of the city, Home Guards and the Surat Junior Chamber had organised recently a blood donation camp at Suryanagar in the Varachha area of the city. The 60th of its kind, a number of persons donated blood in the camp, attended by several doctors of the Maskati hospital, besides members of the Surat Junior Chamber.

Foundation Day
A number of cultural, welfare and other programmes aimed at upliftment of tribals will be held at Saputara, Vaghai, Ahwa and other places of the Dangs district on the occasion of the 39th foundation day of the state on May 1, a statement issued by the district administration said. Besides the district headquarters Ahwa, programmes will also be conducted at the village-level by the taluka and gram panchayat.

Inauguration
Vadodara: MAYOR Ratilal Desai will inaugurate the city's 50th garden on Friday, at the New Sama road near Lakshmikunj Society in the Ayyappa temple complex.
