  Model end to Enduring Images
Mumbai's top models sashayed past the priceless artefacts on display at the National Gallery of Modern Art yesterday as part of the closing ceremony of the Enduring Image exhibition, one of the biggest cultural events of the year. Over 80,000 people have visited the exhibition which is scheduled to wind up on Sunday.

Film producers propose building in Phalke's memory
Members of the Western Film Producers Association came together with a proposal for the state government to allot a plot of land in Mumbai to construct a bhavan in memory of the father of Indian cinema, Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke. The bhavan will house all departments of the industry such as dancing schools, a library, and other related departments.

Czech President Vaclav Havel should be well enough to return home on Wednesday, his doctors said, after emergency surgery more than two weeks ago. Doctors at the Innsbruck hospital, where the former dissident playwright was rushed from his holiday home in the Austrian Tyrol for surgery on April 14, said his health was good enough for him to be repatriated.
