Win Chadha wants to come "back to India"
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
Dubai, May 3: Washeswar Nath Chadha (Win Chadha), a co-accused in the Rs 14.3 billion Bofors gun deal kickbacks scam who has been hospitalised here for a variety of health problems, has said he would like to go back to India. ``I would like to go back to India,'' a weak but nostalgic Chadha said. ``I am willing to be questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation regarding the Bofors case,'' he said. Chadha was admitted to the NRI-run Wellcare Hospital nearly a month ago as he was suffering from symptoms associated with old age.``I am only as healthy as a 74-old man can be. I am lonely and would like to go back to India if the authorities assure me that I will not be harassed,'' Chadha said. He said he was willing to cooperate with the CBI and was ready to answer any queries. Chadha said he was not following up on what was happening in the Bofors case. ``I have never taken or given bribes,'' Chadha, who maintains that the money he received in the Bofors gun deal was winding up charges or commission, said. Chadha, his wife Kanta Chadha who died a few years ago, son Harsh and Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi were among those named by the CBI among the recipients of kickbacks in Bofors gun deal.
