CHANDIGARH, May 3: Haryana Urban Development Authority has floated a new group housing scheme for cooperative societies and welfare housing organisations of the state and the Central Government. The scheme is being floated in 14 towns in the state. Booking for the scheme opened on April 30 and will close on June 30.For Panchkula, a total of 100 acres have been set aside for the scheme. Sites will be allotted to eligible cooperative group housing societies registered with the Registrar, Co-operative Societies, Haryana. The scheme does not envisage allotment of plots to the individual members.
Land cost is to be paid by the societies in easy instalments. While 10 per cent of the total amount is to be paid along with the application, 15 per cent is to be paid within two months of the issue of letter of intent. The balance 75 per cent is to be paid in five equal instalments with interest at the rate of 15 per cent per annum.
The society will be given a rebate of 20 per cent in the land cost if it completes the building work within three years and 10 per cent if it completes the same within four years of the date of handing over the possession viz. on the day connection of water supply would be given by HUDA. The amount of rebate will be adjusted towards the future instalments.The Haryana Urban Development Authority and Housing Board Haryana will be authorised to take up construction of flats under this scheme as deposit work if so desired by the society.
There is a reservation of 10 per cent of the area for Economically Weaker Section (EWS). In addition, there will be 10 per cent reservation for societies of employees of Haryana Government, its boards and corporations including the universities (for Panchkula, this is raised to 25 per cent) and 15 per cent for welfare housing organisations of Haryana Government. The reservation for the Central Government employees in the two categories is 5 per cent and 10 per cent respectively.
For cooperative group housing societies of EWS personnel, there is 40 per cent subsidy on land cost, which is payable in 10 annual instalments. The total family income of members of these societies should not exceed Rs 2,500 per month.
For the general category, societies should consist of members who belong to or are residents of Haryana or are working in the state including Chandigarh for the past one year. The societies of Central Government employees can be from boards and corporations, universities, defence or bank employees. Each society should have at least 40 members.
The scheme is being floated in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Panchkula, Karnal, Ambala, Rohtak, Panipat, Sonepat, Rewari, Bhiwani, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Hisar and Bahadurgarh.
