FY B Com exams at H M school

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, May 3: For the first time in the history of the M S University, the seating arrangement for the students of F Y B Com have been made outside the faculty in the Hill Memorial School, Fatehgunj. The examinations are scheduled to begin from Monday.

Earlier, the seating arrangement for first year students was made on the Polytechnic campus. The Commerce faculty has about 13,500 students, the highest among all faculties. This year 7300 students will appear for their first year examinations.

The seating arrangements have been changed considering the ongoing semester examinations of the Polytechnic. Though Polytechnic examinations are usually held earlier, this year the exams were delayed due to the recently held elections.

Authorities in the Commerce faculty said that it was decided to conduct the examinations outside the campus because it was not possible to accommodate all students in the faculty at a time.

Dean of the Commerce faculty B S Patel said, ``The number of students in the faculty is the largest. Hence the students have to be shifted to other faculties.'' Patel further told Express Newsline that the first year examinations would be conducted in two phases, to enable about 700 students appear for their C A Foundation course examinations.

Senior professors in the faculty said that the faculty could have accommodated all the students in the same premise if the university authorities had given a thought to decentralization. As one of the professors said, ``If the university authorities consider the proposal of having affiliated colleges then the question of accommodating faculty students elsewhere wouldn't arise.''
