  CBI may get nod to prosecute Laloo in fodder scam case
After waiting for eight months, the CBI is likely to get the Governor's sanction in a few days to prosecute former Bihar chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav and others in a fodder scam case (RC 64). Laloo Prasad Yadav was earlier prosecuted in another fodder scam case (RC 20).
  Party adopts Keshubhai Patel's parivartan as new theme song
Even as dissidents are believed to be regrouping against chief minister Keshubhai Patel, the BJP leadership has adopted his parivartan theme and taken it to the national stage. Patel's election theme song had been adopted by outgoing president LK Advani in his "New BJP" speech in Delhi and now in Gandhinagar the national council has adopted it.

To expand Cabinet or not, is BJP's dilemma
The BJP is in two minds over effecting the promised Cabinet expansion before the budget session which begins at the end of the month. While there is tremendous pressure from ministerial aspirants in the party and the alliance partners, a section of the BJP leadership feels that the expansion should be postponed till the Government passes the acid test of a budget session.
Delegates clamour for tougher line in dealing with allies
Jayalalitha may have exhausted the patience of the ruling party. Samata will have to tread more cautiously while Harayan Lok Dal may have to defer its intentions, if any, to some later date. An overwhelming number of members at the national council feel that BJP leadership should deal more firmly on demands made by its allies.

ED studying charges against Jethmalani
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is studying whether there is any basis for charges of Foreign Exchange Regulations Act (FERA) violation levelled against Urban Development Minister Ram Jethmalani, according to official sources. The sources said ED officials were studying the matter in order to decide if there are any grounds for formal investigations.
