New Delhi, May 4: Former Congress president Sitaram Kesri was today granted bail by a city court in connection with a defamation case filed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for his alleged statement that he suspected the latter to be behind the Coimbatore blasts on February 14 last.Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Prem Kumar, before whom he appeared, granted him bail on a personal bond of Rs 10,000 and a surety of the like amount. Meanwhile, the court today took strong note of raising of slogans by Kesri supporters within its premises and directed city police commissioner to make adequate security arrangements in future.
CMM Prem Kumar said: ``I do not wish to take any action except that in future commissioner of police is required to make adequate security arrangements so that mob or supporters of any party... do not obstruct the court proceedings.''
The court also directed the police chief to ensure that any person raising slogans was not allowed within the court premises.
