Joshi leads from the front

Mumbai, May 4: A fine ton by captain Sandeep Joshi helped Credit Agricole Indosuez bank pile 311 against Larsen & Toubro on the first day of the four day final of the Times Shield G Division cricket tournament at Sachivalaya Ground today. At stumps L&T were 12 for no loss.

Brief Scores: Indosuez Bank 311 (Saluddin Kadri 69, Nilesh Raut 32, Sandeep Joshi 128, Mazhar Sagri 56; Bhagwan Sanap 4-79, Uday Bagkar 3-78) vs L7T 12 for no loss.

Ruparel in final: DG Ruparel entered the final of the Inter-Collegiate Cricket tournament. In the first semi-final at Cross Maidan, Ruparel scored a seix wicket win over Siddharth Arts & Commerce College. In the other semi-final, a century by Abhishek Jaywant helped Podar score 245 for five against R Jhunjhunwala on the first day here today.

Brief scores: Siddharth 110 lost to Ruparel 112-4; Ra Podar 245-5 (Salil Vaidya 49, Abhishek Jaywant 101) vs Jhunjhunwala.

New Hind triumph: A fine unbeaten partnership between openers Swapnaj Thakur andBhavish Shetty saw New Hind earn a 10-wicket win over Kamath Memorial Sports Club in the Santosh Kumar Ghosh Memorial Trophy (u-14) Cricket tournament at New Hind, Matunga today. Thakur scored 58 (51b, 13x4) while Shetty slammed 70 (86b, 12x4).

Brief Scores: Kamath Memorial 155 in 28 overs (Chetan Anguia 28, Pradash Mayelkar 24, Gaurav Deshmukh 19; Aditya Kale 3-23, Pratik Koli 3-28) lost to New Hind 158 for no loss (Swapnaj Thakur 58, Bhavish Shetty 70). Man Of The Match: Bhavish Shetty).

AEC triumph: Defending champions, AEC Cricket Club lifted the Malabar Hill Trophy organised by the Malabar Hill Kala Krida Mandal at the SM Joshi municipal playground recently. In the final AEC got the better of DarlingCricket Club. Dilip Gurav and Ankush Bawkar of the winning team were declared the best batsman and bowler respectively.
