Committee to decide on union leaders' term

VADODARA, May 4: A four-member committee has been set up to look into the implementation of extension of term of the vice-president and general secretary of the Maharaja Sayaji University Students' Union.

The committee members are Nilesh Shukla, Nikhil Desai, Cassim Unia and S R Pandya. The committee members will propose that the election for the student union be held at the beginning of September so that its term would conclude by April.

The members have decided to propose that the university leaders be kept as observers up to August 31 till the next union takes over the mantle.

Maharaja Sayaji University syndicate member Nilesh Shukla said, ``The proposal for this would be kept before the syndicate scheduled to be held by the end of this month.'' He added that if the proposal is cleared then the ordinance of the observation would be implemented from the beginning of the next academic year.

Officer on Special Duty for Administration Rumy Mistry would be convening the meeting of the committee.
