  US curbs on Pak lab over Ghauri
The United States has imposed sanctions against Pakistan's Khan Research Laboratories and North Korea over the April 6 test of the Ghauri missile. The sanctions were notified in the Federal Register on Monday by the State Departments Bureau of Political and Military Affairs.
  No hidden agenda says Advani, assures fair review of statute
Union Home Minister L K Advani yesterday sought to deflect criticism of the Constitutional review commission being set up saying that there's no "hidden agenda" and that the Government was firmly committed to "our electoral democracy and to the basic features of the Constitution including secularism."

Cong wants caution on China; MEA mum
The Congress yesterday asked Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to "clear the confusion" caused by Defence Minister George Fernandes' observation that China was India's main threat. At least three Congress leaders -- Natwar Singh, Salman Khursheed and Oscar Fernandes -- reacted to what the Defence Minister said. The essence was the same: that Fernandes went against the letter and spirit of India's relations with China.
Sitaram Kesri gets bail in RSS defamation case
Former Congress president Sitaram Kesri was yesterday granted bail by a New Delhi court in connection with a defamation case filed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for his alleged statement that he suspected the latter to be behind the Coimbatore blasts on February 14 last.

SC notice to Arjun in farmhouse case
The Supreme Court today issued notice to senior Congress leader Arjun Singh on a petition filed by the Income Tax department challenging a high court stay on valuation of his farmhouse in the wake of allegations that he was one of the recipients mentioned in the Jain diaries.
