  Partymen to protest at MPCC meet
Disgruntled Congress workers have decided to launch an agitation at the venue of the MPCC convention beginning tomorrow. The agitation is being spearheaded by Corporator Asha Bhoge who has threatened to open up a can of worms against the exploits of Nashik Congress president Murlidhar Mane and joint secretary of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Jaiprakash Chhajed.
  Sitaram Kesri gets bail in RSS defamation case
Former Congress president Sitaram Kesri was yesterday granted bail by a New Delhi court in connection with a defamation case filed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for his alleged statement that he suspected the latter to be behind the Coimbatore blasts on February 14 last.

Biswal steps in as Orissa PCC president
Replacing his government boss J B Patnaik, State Deputy Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal has been appointed the new Pradesh Congress Committee chief in Orissa yesterday. Party president Sonia Gandhi made the appointment after meeting Patnaik in the afternoon. This is her first appointment of any PCC head.

Caution is the new watchword for Cong in Himachal polls
Things are hotting up in the Congress and the ruling BJP camps with the focus now shifting to the June 3 Assembly elections for the four seats in the tribal belt. The Congress has shed its over-confidence, which had cost it dearly during the LS polls and is more cautious now. A delegation of 43 Congress leaders from the Chhatisgarh region of Madhya Pradesh yesterday called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and submitted a memorandum, supporting the demand for the creation of a separate Chhatisgarh state.
