Jewellery shop looted

May 5: While senior police officers were meeting businessmen over how to prevent robbery, a few metres away, six armed men looted a jewellery shop in Ghatkopar (W) and escaped with 10 kg gold valued around Rs 50 lakh this evening.Two persons were injured in the shootout which took place after the incident at the busy M G Road shopping area at around 5.10 pm. Business was as usual at Prashant Jewellers when the unidentified men entered the shop posing as customers. They drew handguns and held the owner Raju Jain captive while one of the accomplices collected gold from the counters.
