Yugoslav club chief shot deadBELGRADE: Jusa Bulic, the president of the Yugoslav Division `A' club Zeleznik Belgrade, was shot dead last night in an apparent gangland killing, Yugoslav media reported.
Bulic, his bodyguard and a friend died after two masked gunmen armed with Kalashnikov rifles unleashed a hail of bullets on them as they were leaving a cafe in a Belgrade suburb. Bulic's brother and a fifth member of the group were seriously wounded, and the assassins escaped in a car.
When he took over Zeleznik in 1992, Bulic steered the club from a minor league to Yugoslav Division `A'. He owned a nightclub located in the club's grounds and two betting shops.
Inter's hopes rests on Ronaldo
PARIS: Ronaldo will be hoping to settle Inter Milan's score with the Uefa Cup here tomorrow night when last season's losing finalists face Serie `A' rivals Lazio for the trophy.
Inter went down to Schalke 04 in a penalty shoot-out at San Siro after finishing 1-1 on aggregate following extra time inlast year's second leg of the final. But this time inter have a 30-goal Brazilian here as they aim for a hat-trick of Uefa Cup triumphs this decade, after beating AS Roma in another all-Italian final in 1991 and SV Salzburg in 1994.
Lazio, making their first ever appearance in a European Cup final, are meanwhile looking to win their second trophy in eight days - having crushed AC Milan in the Italian Cup last Wednesday.
Coetzer is Chase Player of the Month
STANFORD: South Africa's Amanda Coetzer, who won the Family Circle Cup title at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina yesterday was named the Chase Player of the Month for April.
She followed up her Family Circle Cup victory, by reaching the semifinals of the Bausch and Lomb Championships. She finished the month with an 8-1 singles record and is currently ranked No 4 on the Corel WTA Tour.
