Indo-Suez Bank hold the edge

May 5: Larsen & Toubro, set to score 300 for a win by Credit Agricole Indo-Suez Bank, were four for no loss in their second innings. Twenty wickets tumbled on the second day of the four-day final of the Times Shield `G' Division cricket tournament at the Sachivalaya ground, Oval maidan, today.

L&T, resuming their first innings at 12 for no loss in reply to the bankmen's total of 311, were bowled out for 162 with Sharad Gokhale being the top scorer with 32, while Sham Koli was the other main run-getter with 27.

Brief scores: C A Indo-Suez Bank 311 and 150 (Salauddin Kadri 41, Mahesh Balkrishnan 31; Uday Bagkar 3-55, Bhagwan Sanap 7-42) vs Larsen & Toubro 162 (Sharad Gokhale 31; Hemant Futaiwala 4-46, Mazhar Sagri 5-46) and 4 for no loss.

Nandu, Raju shine: AN unbroken 96 runs partnership for the sixth wicket between Nandu Donwalkar and Raju Ambhire helped Krushi Udyog to score 210 for five against Tata Special Steel, on the first day of the four-day final of the Times Shield `C' Divisioncricket tournament, at the MIG ground, Bandra, today. Brief score: Krushi Udyog 210 for 5 (Sanjay Gaitonde 67, Nandu Donwalkar batting 50, Raju Ambhire batting 46; Anup Sabnis 3-25).

Podar well placed: RA PODAR are well set to make the final of the Inter-Collegiate cricket tournament on the second day against R Jhunjhunwala at Matunga, today.
